Musings of a Postman – I

Prologue. In this series, we have a postman who is quite a naughty chap. To amuse himself when he is not working, he reads the letters. From time to time, I will be posting some specimen letters that comes in hand of this postman. Also, this postman is quite a traveler. Once he gets bored of a country or state or city or town or village, he gets himself transferred to a different place (after all, he is a fictional character). So, let’s begin the journey of this postman with the first specimen postcard.

Dear friend,
I don’t know you and you don’t know me. Your receiving this letter shows that we are somehow connected. I believe God wants us to be together.
You will be wondering how I got your name and address. That was not easy. Two days back, in my dream I was visited by a fairy who granted me a wish. I asked the fairy to point me to the guy who was made for me. She gave me a mobile number. When I woke up, I excitedly dialed the number. You know what happened – the number did not exist. But I did not give up hope. Fortunately, my brother worked for the company with which the number was associated. So, I asked him to check if this number was in their database. It was, and so was your name and address. God has His own ways.
I think after knowing this instance – you will also start believing in destiny. I know you are the one for me. I would like to meet you as soon as possible. Would have written much more but there is no space left.

Yours,
A beautiful friend.

The postman checked back and forward of the postcard but could not find any return address or sender’s number. ‘Girls!’ he thought.

Author’s Notes:
The idea of this series originated when I was thinking an idea for a new story. The story did not develop but this came into existence. One more thing, I think its quite clear that there will be no follow-ups for the letters here.
